Keith and Holly Rodenberger opened The Palms Tanning Resort in February 2003. In a short period of time, they began receiving prestigious national accolades from the indoor tanning industry, as well as local accolades, including recognition from The Denver Business Journal for “Basking in Success” as a recognized successful upstart tanning resort that is taking on the best of the established tanning salons in the Denver area. |
Additionally, The Palms was honored with the award Best of Business in Denver by Places with Spaces 2003-2004 for their superior customer service and unique approach to the tanning salon industry. |
Within it's first few months of business, The Palms achieved national tanning industry awards that include the 2003 Best Image award given by Today's Image Magazine in recognition of the salon's outstanding identity and marketing/promotion materials, designed by Zafari, Inc. The salon was also chosen as the finalist for Best Décor and Best Image for the Today's Image Las Vegas Tanning Expo in June 2003. The Palms Tanning Resort is the only tanning salon to ever be nominated in both categories. |
Another milestone that The Palms achieved was to be featured in the May 2003 issue of Tanning Trends Magazine as The Member of the Month. The Palms Tanning Resort was the youngest tanning salon in the history of the publication to be honored with this prestigious designation, having just opened in February. |

Proving the success of Keith and Holly's new business venture, The Palms Tanning Resort has already ranked in the top 9% of all tanning salons nationwide for annual gross revenues in only the first nine months since The Palms opened its doors. (Source Today's Image August 2003 issue). |
In an effort to further push The Palms into a new level of tanning salons, Holly Rodenberger, co-founder of The Palms, achieved one of the company's biggest accomplishments by signing the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders as their official tanning resort. Thus, the Denver Broncos cheerleaders enjoy the use of the ever popular sunless tanning technology, The Mystic Tan™, as well as The Palms' other 13 world-class tanning beds. In return, The Palms benefits from the tremendous marketing exposure by having the cheerleaders endorse The Palms throughout the Denver Metropolitan Area. |
As the next step in The Palm Tanning Resort's growth, Holly and Keith have launched the franchise process for the salon. They are one of the youngest tanning salons ever to offer franchises. |
Their success with The Palms Tanning Resort is a reflection of the experience both Keith and Holly bring to their business venture. Keith began his foray into the business world as a young entrepreneur, with three established companies that reported substantial profits -- all by the time he was 16. |
Keith's spirit of adventure continues. He ran a flight school for seven years in southern California before his move into the tanning salon industry. Keith is a current Commercial Pilot and loves to fly as well as skydive when the opportunity arises. Keith is also an active scuba diver who loves to enjoy a diving adventure in any part of the world. |
Prior to being co-founder of The Palms, Holly worked in the corporate world on the east coast for over twelve years. Her experience in marketing research has helped develop and implement a successful business plan that has put The Palms in the top nine-percent of all tanning salons. |
Keith and Holly decided to move to Colorado because of the great “quality of life” afforded to residents of the state. As business savvy entrepreneurs, they did in-depth research on the indoor tanning industry. Prior to their foray into opening The Palms Tanning Resort in Greenwood Village they found that Denver needed a high-end, upscale tanning resort to fulfill their customer's tanning demands. |
Now with almost a year under their belts, Keith and Holly, in addition to franchising The Palms, have plans to build numerous corporate-owned stores throughout Denver and Colorado and then nationwide over the next few years. |
